2C: Instructions
After reading Simmons’ chapter on Challenging Board Leadership, create a 5 page paper connecting themes from this chapter with experiences you have had with boards on which you have served.
Assignment 2c: Challenges Paper
After reading Simmons’ chapter on ”Challenge of Board Leadership,” write a four-to-five page (aim for four full pages), APA7 paper connecting themes from Dr. Simmons chapter with experiences you have had with boards on which you have served. If you have never served on a board, write about what issues you would find most challenging if you were serving on a board. Think of this like you are writing a literature review. To help you understand what this means, read this excellent article, How to Write a Literature Review. [Hint Hint: this will also help you write your discussion posts and incorporate more sources than just one.]

Assignment 5b: CEO Scorecard and Evaluation Plan.
Instructions
Your texts discuss the board’s responsibility to evaluate the performance of the CEO. This is a critical aspect of Board Governance. In this assignment, you are required to develop an evaluation plan for the CEO of an organization of your choosing. The plan must be based on the research you do related to best practices for evaluating CEOs. The following steps will lead to a successful CEO evaluation plan:
Below is an example of a CEO scorecard. You are to develop one related to board evaluation of a CEO. I suggest the categories of the scorecard align with the main initiatives with the strategic plan of the organization. The scorecard then measures how well (red, orange, yellow or green) the CEO is doing to achieve the main aspects of the organization’s agreed up plan and overarching vision (the preferred future everyone is working together to create). Remember, effective evaluation is formative and summarize AND formal and informal.
Is the information design logical, effective, and consistent?

Assignment 7b: Board Training about Governance as Leadership Capstone Project
Instructions
For this assignment, you have been hired as a consultant for a nonprofit organization. You understand the connection between steward leadership and serving as a trustee on a board of directors. Further, you understand the importance of “stewarding” time, treasure, talent and relationships!
The organization is maturing, and they have communicated that at present they think they operate as a Traditional Model board (Wilson, p. 164). They are unsure, however, about present practice and think they may instead operate following a Results-Based Model. As a part of your consulting contract, you have been asked to lead a two-day retreat. Desired outcomes for the retreat are:
For this assignment, submit a narrated PowerPoint presentation (20 slides minimum) that you would use with the board to address the above four goals.
Please embed the narration into each PowerPoint slide and limit total time of narration to 10 minutes or less.
