Assignment outline
The module is assessed by means of a 3,000 word essay (including Appendix) worth
100% of the module marks and completed on an individual basis. Assessment is to the
criteria set out in FHEQ7.
In 2021, following the COVID-19 implications for the world, a group of entrepreneurs,
based in the UK, decided to develop a video game, called Healthy Mind. The game
focuses on improving the mental health of young adults during the challenging
times. See the importance of the topic here at YoungMinds.Org.Uk. The NHS
expressed interest in forming a partnership with the key developers to incorporate
Healthy Mind as part of the UK’s national mental health programs. You can read
more about the increasing role of game development in health here. In developing
the digital app, the team used agile development to engage with patients, doctors,
public, and nurses as a result of which the app was successfully completed and
made available in the UK and Healthy Mind is now used by several UK-based GP
practices.
In 2022, the team of developers have decided to ‘scale their work’ to create Healthy
Mind as a global mental health application that can be used beyond the UK’s
borders. In particular, they are keen to penetrate Asia’s growing markets and attract
users from China and India especially. Hence, for now, their goal is to expand
their team to release Healthy Mind as an attractive and reliable application that
can be used by young adults in China and India on top of the UK.
The team recognises that their goal involves scaling an agile digital project and
although they are accomplished developers, they are not project managers with such
knowledge. Recently, they have learnt from a colleague about your training in
Managing Digital Information Projects at the University of Leeds. In particular, they
have heard you have insights into contemporary concepts of scaling agile projects
such as scaling agile project management using the Spotify model, risk
management, using the digital workforce, crowdsourcing/crowdfunding, and other
successful models of developing game-changing digital projects. Hence, to achieve
their goal, they have approached you to provide input to key aspects of their project
development.

document for them that:
(1) identifies the risks involved in using large-scale agile frameworks (e.g., Spotify)
to implement the successful scaling of Healthy Mind beyond the UK borders, and
(2) recommends resolutions/solutions for addressing those risks.
The first part of the document is worth 50% and the second part of the document
is worth 50% – while you don’t have to split the word count up in exactly that way
you should bear this in mind when planning and writing it.
Your work (including Appendix & excluding References) should be a maximum of
3,000 words in length.
It is recommended to make use of tables and figures to structure your ideas and
be more professional. You can some good practices here.

Notes:
Assignments should be a maximum of 3,000 words in length.
All coursework assignments that contribute to the assessment of a module are subject to a word limit,
as specified in the online module handbook in the relevant module area of the MINERVA. The word
limit is an extremely important aspect of good academic practice, and must be adhered to.
Unless stated specifically otherwise in the relevant module handbook, the word count includes
EVERYTHING (i.e. all text in the main body of the assignment including summaries, subtitles, contents
pages, tables, supportive material whether in footnotes or in-text references) except the main title,
reference list and/or bibliography and any appendices. It is not acceptable to present matters of
substance, which should be included in the main body of the text, in the appendices (“appendix
abuse”). It is not acceptable to attempt to hide words in graphs and diagrams; only text which is strictly
necessary should be included in graphs and diagrams.
You are required to adhere to the word limit specified and state an accurate word count on the cover
page of your assignment brief. Your declared word count must be accurate, and should not mislead.
Making a fraudulent statement concerning the work submitted for assessment could be considered
academic malpractice and investigated as such. If the amount of work submitted is higher than that

specified by the word limit or that declared on your word count, this may be reflected in the mark awarded and
noted through individual feedback given to you.
The deadline date for this assignment is 12:00:00 noon on Thursday 12th May 2022
An electronic copy of the assignment must be submitted to the Assignment Submission area within the module
resource on the Blackboard MINERVA website no later than 12:00:00 noon prompt on the deadline date.
Faxed, emailed or hard copies of the assignment will not be accepted.
Failure to meet this initial deadline will result in a reduction of marks, details of which can be found at the
following place: https://students.business.leeds.ac.uk/assessment/code-of-practice-on-assessment/
SUBMISSION
Please ensure that you leave sufficient time to complete the online submission process, as upload
