Carnal wanted to see a few private clients at this home office and contracted with Dr. Glide to supervise him. Glide agreed and was paid by Carnal for several hours of supervision time. Some months later, several women complained that they were sexually molested by Carnal in the guise of therapy. Canal fled the state, and a negligence lawsuit was subsequently directed toward Dr. Glide for inadequately supervising Carnal. Dr. Glide claimed that Carnal never told him about the sexual activities, the names of the clients involved, or oven that he was practicing in his own home.
2. An article in a local newspaper quoted psychologist Adolf Blunt, Ph.D., as having said, No responsible psychologist can deny that minority ethnic heritage is the major cause of violent crime.” Dr. Blunt was upset by the story, as well as by subsequent criticisms from colleagues and others on the basis of a misquote. He noted that the quotation was based on an extended conversation with the reporter, during which Blunt presented data showing that acts of violent street crime were proportionately higher in some areas where certain ethnic minority groups were concentrated, and that this fact cannot be denied. Blunt stated that he then discussed numerous possible explanations, none of which had racist connotations.
