It is extremely common for students to report that they cannot complete assignments on time and/or cannot complete quality assignments because they procrastinate and are unmotivated. Interview a student on the reasons why they procrastinate. Follow up by asking what factors were different for those when times when they did not procrastinate and completed assignments successfully.
Reflect on the answers you receive from the interview and write a 750 word paper in which you do the following:
Provide a thorough explanation of one theory of motivation. Connect the interview you conducted to elements of the theory of motivation. Use the theory to identify why your interviewee may have felt unmotivated. Additionally, using the interview and theory of motivation, identify ways that the student can feel more motivated to engage in their work in the future.
Develop a conclusion connecting the theory and techniques for motivation to your own life. How may you use this information to improve your future academic and occupational engagement?
Use two to three scholarly resources to support your explanations.
