N218 Clinical Pharmacology
APA Paper Guidelines
You will write a 4-5 page paper (do not count the title page and reference pages) based on the book Josie’s Story by Sorrell King AND another topic related to medication safety. A grading rubric is posted to guide the content of your paper. Since this is a pharmacology course, I will expect to see principles learned in this course reflected in the paper. I will also expect your paper to be written in a professional manner.
APA (6th or 7th edition) is the required writing style. Points will be deducted for APA errors, spelling and grammatical errors, or not observing the length requirement. You may use an APA book or the Purdue OWL website at:
Make sure to include a title page and a reference page, no abstract is necessary. Limit the body of the paper to no more than 5 pages (double-spaced). You will be required to turn the paper in electronically through Turnitin on the Blackboard site. The font should be Times New Roman and please use correct spacing and margins.
Please use at least three professional medical or nursing references in addition to the book. You must use professional references no more than 5 years old. I can tell if you use references intended for non-medical people by the words that you use in your paper. One reference can be your textbook, one from the nursing literature (search through the ISU library), and one from another medical source.
Here are a few websites that might be helpful. Feel free to locate your own sources of professional information.
