How did the American Revolution and the enlightenment ideals that helped to inspire it affect slavery and enslaved peoples during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries(i.e. 1760 to 1815)?
Using the experiences of enslaved women examined in this course and its sources, explain how slavery affected women in ways different from men. (Although it is a fictional narrative, you should use Lawrence Hill’s novel as one of your sources.)
