Assess how safety is managed at your current (or former) employer. Would you classify your company’s approach to safety management as traditional (safety programs), or is it taking a systems approach? If your company has not implemented a safety management system, why do you feel it has not done so? If your company has implemented a safety management system, do you feel the program has been successfully implemented? Please justify your response.

Expert answer

At my current employer, we have a traditional approach to safety management. We have safety programs in place, but we don't have a formal safety management system. I think the reason why we haven't implemented a formal safety management system is because it can be costly and time-consuming to do so. Additionally, I don't think our company feels that a formal safety management system is necessary. However, I do think that a formal safety management system would be beneficial for our company. It would help us to better identify and manage risks, and it would improve communication between different departments within our company. Additionally, it would provide a structure for addressing safety concerns and investigating accidents. Overall, I think a formal safety management system would help to make our company a safer place to work.

My current employer has a traditional approach to safety management. It has a safety program in place, but it does not take a systems approach. I feel that the company has not implemented a safety management system because it does not believe that such a system is necessary. The company feels that its safety program is adequate and that a system is not needed. However, I feel that a safety management system would be beneficial for the company. It would help to ensure that all employees are following the same safety procedures and that everyone is aware of the potential hazards in their work environment. Additionally, a safety management system would help to identify and correct any problems with the current safety program. My current employer has a traditional approach to safety management.
