Essay on comparing and contrasting two characters ( Abigail and Elizabeth Proctor) in the play ("The Crucible") It needs to have a hook, thesis statement, 5 paragraphs, with cite evidence.
Abigail and Elizabeth Proctor are two very different characters in Arthur Miller's play The Crucible. Abigail is a young, vengeful girl who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Elizabeth is a loyal, honest wife who is struggling to forgive her husband for his affair. Although they are different in many ways, they both play an important role in the story.
Abigail is motivated by fear and anger. She is afraid of being caught and punished for her part in the affair with John Proctor. She is also angry with Elizabeth for refusing to believe her when she says that the affair was not her fault. Elizabeth is motivated by love and forgiveness. She loves her husband despite his faults, and she is willing to forgive him for his affair.
