QUESTION 4
In your own words please describe measurement error. Provide a detailed example of measurement error. Discuss the tools and techniques used to address and minimize measurement error.
Sampling error is a measure of the variation in a sample survey's results due to the variation in the sample itself. This means that, even if the population is selected randomly, the sample might not accurately reflect it. This can be due to several factors, such as how well the population was sampled or how representative it is of the whole.
An example of sampling error would be if a pollster asked 1000 people who they planned to vote for in the next election, and found that 500 planned to vote for Candidate A and 500 planned to vote for Candidate B. However, if they interviewed only people who had already voted early, this would not be a random sample of the population, and would therefore produce inaccurate results.
