One of the features of the Make-A-Wish Foundation that would lead you to expect to find a playful culture is the way in which they approach their work. MAW is an organization that is dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses, and as such, they take their work seriously. Rather than simply granting a child's request, MAW strives to create an experience that is memorable and fun for both the child and their family. This often involves incorporating play into the wish in some way. For instance, one recent wish involved a young girl who wanted to be a princess for a day. Rather than simply giving her a tiara and calling it done, MAW staff went above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience. They transformed her hospital room into a royal palace, complete with knights in shining armor, a throne, and even a red carpet. The girl was treated like royalty for the day, and she even got to meet and take pictures with real-life princesses. This experience was made possible by the creative and playful thinking of MAW staff, who went above and beyond to make the girl's wish come true.

Another example of the playful culture at MAW is the way in which they encourage their staff to think creatively. Rather than simply asking staff to fulfill wishes, MAW encourages them to come up with new and innovative ways to do so.
